Do You have a puppy friend?

I have here one happy Golden and eight great happy kitties.  All of whom love treats.  I was mixing up a batch of peanut butter cookies and thinking that I felt a few eyes on me.  I turned around and oh yes all eyes
were on me!  I think hoping for a few pieces to drop on to the floor.  If i had I am sure there would have been a run for it.  So I have been thinking of making treats for the pets not only here at my house, but for the many other pet owners that walk up and down the streets of Frederick.

I have tried my hand at the bones that are made of peanut butter and oatmeal.  The pet here love them.  So I started to make a few extras for some of my customers.  They have gotten their starter tastes and now I m hoping that they will now come in and buy them on a regular bases.  The bone shaped treats are made of Water, flour, oatmeal and peanut butter.  That is it!  Nothing that can be bad for anyone else that might try one.  I have and they arn't too bad.  But I wanted to make sure that it wouldn't hurt anyone.

We now offer them in 2 sizes: small and large bone shaped treats.  1 doz of the small one for $2.00 and 1 doz large for $3.00.  These are the plain ones.  That is they arn't decorated for Christmas.  Those will be offered soon.  Priced each.  I will also be offering 2 1/2 doz large bones in a small Christmas tin for $9.00 for the plain ones.  And the 31/2 doz small bones in Christmas tins for $10.00.  Christmas treats will be priced this week.

Happy Holidays to all the pets too!

Thanksgiving is just 4 days away

Yes we are there! That week of the cooking turkey and stuffing.  Fixing all the goodies for the Thank you dinner.  We have so much to be thankful for this year.  The store is doing oh so much better.  I am thankful that my children are all well and doing good too.   And I am very thankful to all of you who we have been able to help with your needs for the year so far.  So as I sit down to that great meal this Thursday I will be thinking of everyone in this world who are far away and doing their best for us in the armed forces.  I pray that they too will be eating something good.  And I pray that all will be protected from harm.  I also say thank you for all you have done over there.

HAPPY  THANKSGIVING TO ALL!!

I do hope that  you will take a look see and enjoy  your bakeing and cooking even better with one of my aprons.

Pumpkin hunters we still have the caps and mittens.

The pumpkin caps and mittens are still being made for the Month of November.   Thanksgiving is still a time of Fall and Cornacopies fill with vegies.  Mums are still the flower for this month too.   There is also the Fall colors in caps and mittens.  And now with the first snow that has fallen and can't get back up we need to think of warmmer  outside clothes.  There are a few scarfs and sweaters for the younger ones.  With more on the needles as we speek.  Baby blankets made of cotton and acrylic yarns are ready.  I have made some fleese blankets too.  Sweat shirts for youth and adult with young at heart designs as well as for the children.
Just come and take a look in our Etsy shop or come in to the store.  htt://www.NannyGoatCrafts.Etsy.com

Trick or was it a treat?

Well the weather was not the kind of weather one would want to have here at Halloween.  We have had a very nasty surprise or Trick for all the ghosts and witches and supper men.  With snow on the ground  we have to dress up good and warm when going Trick or Treating this Monday night.  All the little ones and the  youthful ones will have to wear that 2nd layer of clothes.  So, Mittens, Caps and scarfs will be a good part of our kids clothes this Halloween night.  But remember kids it is a night for fun.

                                                    Happy Halloween  ya all !

Good Morrin' from Nanny Goat Crafts

It is a bright and cool morring here, but with coffee in hand I have a few things to tell you about.
This is a prayer shawl.  It is knitted with hand tied fringe.  The yarns that are in it is a multi colored acrylic with a Mylar and acrylic yarn together.  It is warm and cozy while sitting in a window area reading on a sunny day. Or  it is good to throw over you head and shoulders and run to the post box for the mail. Yesterday with the wind blowing so hard it was a good chill chaser.  Great for anyone who is in a wheelchair or sitting up in bed. I have only one left for now. The cost  is $65.00.  Shipping is $15.00 to most places in the USA.
Here is the link  http://www.NannyGoatCrafts.Etsy.com  Go see it for your self and look at all the other lovely things there.

Nanny Goat Crafts has a new Idea

Yes, I do.  I am thinking of a new department for the store.  It would be leaning toward your pet cats and dogs.  I have been knitting things up for the dogs and cats but not as a department for the store.  With the winter coming  I have been thinking of our four legged friends an their warmth. I had a few Ideas for the coziness of them while we are at work and we turn down the heat in the house.  So as I get things worked up I will be placing them in the Etsy web spot.  So be on the look out for new things soon!

What is new in knitting

I am sitting here with one of my Prayer Shawls wrapped around my shoulders.  They are very nice and warm against this damp and cool morring.  I have one on my Etsy web page that would keep you warm too. That one is a multi colored one with a Mylar thread running Thu the knitting.  With the chilly morrings of the Fall and Winter seasons coming into the area early this year we need the warmth of warm clothing.  This shawl is big enough to warm up your shoulders and your head  for that quick run out to get the paper in off the front porch.  When reading a book or the Good book sitting in the window it can be you cover for your knees or
your back.  Hurry in to see the few that have been made this year in red, blue or the multi colored one. They make great gifts for people in the hospital or a nursing home.  Even people that are in a wheel chair will enjoy them. They are priced at $65. And yes we can send them to who ever you want. Postage is extra.

Fall

It seems like just yesterday the kids got out of school and now it is the 2nd or 3 week back.  This year is rolling along very fast.  We have had a very hot and dry Summer and I am not looking forward to predict the Winter.  But I am ready with the caps, mittens and scarfs.  We have a good supply of the pumpkin hats available.  Mittens and scarfs too. But we have the regular caps sets in very different colors.  Fall is fun time with the leaves changing and the many fests that are in the area.  There is the crafts fests of local areas like
Rose Hill Manor here in Frederick.  The Colorfest of Thurmont, Md. That is a quick ride up 15 North. Then there is the Woodsboro Crafts Fest just outside of Frederick in the town of Woodsboro at the Copper Mind Rd picnic area.  The German Oktoberfest  at the Frederick Fair grounds in October.

A few Churches have been known to make apple butter at this time of year and butchering too.  So check the Frederick News  or the Frederick.com web site  for all the new listings.

I love Fall, but not all the leaves to clean up.  ENJOY!!

Where did you get your hat??

This question has come up alot lately.  I got  this idea when I saw one in a picture from New York.
I have been making them now for  3 years.  I have adapted the idea to making apples and strawberries.
My son wears one during the Fall up in NYC and has had alot of ooos and ahhhs.  I have them in sizes of
baby, youths and adults.  Matching mittens are available in these same sizes.  With or without string for keeping the mittens together around your back.  That is one sure way not to lose your mittens like those silly kittens of Mother Goose. You can order them Thu my web site  www.NannyGoatCrafts.etsy.com or just email me at my Addy: rebbiesmom@yahoo.com !

A busy begining of the Fall fests

Once we recover from the Labor Day weekend there will be another  fun time in Down town Frederick.
The First Night was a blast this past weekend coming on Labor Day weekend and it had a Rocking around the 50's theme.  There was so much to see and do.  The was a hula hoop try outs on Patrick Street and a few really good bands there too. Live modling in  Venis on The Half Shell front window with more great clothes inside.  There were places with the best smells coming from them.  Being on a diet I could not go in without eating so I steared clear of them.  But I think I was the only one!!

Next weekend we will have the In The Streets.  There is soo much to do and see and eat then that I know you could spend the whole day here.  There is the big run in the morring so come root on your fave gal or guy to win.  Then there is the many booths to get goodies from and the restaurants feeding you out on the sidewalks or their tables.  Foods cooked outside is always better.  Face painting, candy cotton and moon bounce at the Grace church on 2nd street is one place to take children.  Then you can slip in to see me here at Nanny Goat Crafts: 15 E. 2nd Street.

Jumbo's Pumpkin Patch will be open for all you needs in crafts for Fall and that one of a kind jack o' lantern.
Jumbo's has a craft shed and there are rides and food and crafts all over the buildings at the working farm.  Jumbo's is located just out of Middletown and has been a Pumpkin Patch for many years.  So come to the farm for fun from Sept 17th Thu Oct.  31.

And visit us in down town Frederick  Tues Thu Sat.  10 am to 5 pm . Come pick out your new caps and mittens for Fall and Winter. Look for that special gift for the Holidays.  That's 15 E. 2nd Street.

Fall and Winter starts showing up in Nanny Goat Crafts

I have some new aprons and towels that have Halloween and Fall motif.  Now that Irene has left town I can start working on more Fall and Winter goodies.  Aprons, hot mitts, napkins, coasters and towels are on that list of things to make.  Right now we have some onesies, tee shirts and bibs for the wee ones to add to their fun of Fall and Halloween.  The sizes of 4 to 6 have a few tees to put them in a Fall mood. I have sweat shirts for the 4 to 12 sizes for the cooler weather that is coming.  Then I have the wide verity of caps and mittens from 0 baby to XL adult.  There are a few scarfs too.  A lovely pray shawl in multi colors awaits a lady who is in need of the comfort of its warmth.

Some Christmas has showed up in the store for those who need to get things early.  Aprons with old world Santa's and snowmen are in. Hot mitts that match some of the aprons are here too.

From pumpkins to Santa's there are a few new items to look over here at Nanny Goat Crafts.  Come on down and find the right gift or clothing here at 15 E. 2nd Street in downtown Frederick.

Oh Irene

We are very happy that Irene has gone on by.  We here in Frederick town have had no damage to our house or most of our neighbours.  The only thing that I did notice were the leaves stuck on all of the walls of the house and windows.  Today, Monday, is bright and sunny with a bit cooler temps.  Thank God it was not worse!

Do I hear Fall taping at my window?

Oh, I think I hear Fall tapping at my window. Yes, I do believe, I have seen a few changes.  The goldenrod is five fingers long and very golden in color.  The chestnuts have started to fall and the chipmonks are running to harvest all  the nuts they can find.  Some of the trees are dropping their leaves because of driness but some have turned just a little.
Here in the store have started to see the Fall and Winter fabrics come slipping in and I have started to clean up the Summer fabrics. There are new aprons for Fall and a few for Christmas too.  I shiver to think of the coming of Fall and Winters chilly days.  But that is a good thing since we have been haveing very hot temps for a few weeks now.
I have been getting a few over coats that need the linning rehemmed and the buttons put back on.  The hems of a few jumpers have come my way too.  So, my faithfull readers, if you have a few things to be fixed before you wear them for the Fall and Winter please bring them down so I can fix them soon.
In the store I have a few new clothes for Halloween. Childrens sizes only for now.  But I plan to have more clothes soon.  Not just for kidds, but everyone.
The children will be, if not already, back to school and there will be more time for looking into all the find shops in town.  You might even find here a few great ideas for the college bound student too.  And, Oh my, the gifts that you will need for all the up and coming celebrations.
So, when you get to cleanning out your Spring and Summer clothes to move in the Fall and Winter clothes check out the sewing problems or needs and come see Me, Trish, at Nanny Goat Crafts I will help you.  That way Fall and Winter wont catch you off gard.

First Night of August

It was a grand night for  the August's First Night weekend.  It started out to be the usual hot and dry. But it
made it to cool rain in a hurry.  The sky's opened up with large rain drops and the rain was a cold rain.  People ran for cover. The people that ran into our small shop got to see a shop that some had not been in before.  We all were talking about  Nanny's Mending Basket and the many things that are in the shop.  With Fall coming in with schools opening, kids going back at the end of August, we started talking about hats and mittens.  I have been asked if I will be making anything in fleece.  Yes people I hope to have a few things in fleece like scarves and capes.  I have been thinking  of making a few new things too.  But, you will have to wait and see what comes up in the window.  Please come and see me if you need anything made for you or your children.  Oh yes, we make pet things too!

All and all we had a wonderful August's First Night weekend!  Thank all who came in last night it was great having you here.

Nanny' Mending Basket

We have said in other posts that Nanny Goat Crafts will be opening a new part to her shop.  Well on August's First Night we did.  Many people came in an asked questions about what will I be working on.
I talked with a few that wanted to know if I would be doing hemming, Yes I will be.  Can we cuff pants? Yes, I will do pants.  Torn seams and hems and buttons are things that many people need help with.  Waist bands on skirts and elastic in pants. Cuffs and pockets and knees patches.  Even patches on your elbows of
jackets.  I have mended sweaters and fixed dog beds.  I have even fixed a dogs fave toy with a new squeakier.

In the Store we have Knitted, Sewn and Counted Cross Stitched clothes and other items.  We make new clothes and we also fix clothes at the Mending basket.  So come see us or call us.  The stores address is
Nanny Goat Crafts, 15 E. 2nd Street.  Our phone is:  240 367-5532.   Mark your apt calender to come and see us today.  My prices are reasonable.

Ah beautiful rain!

Hot and humid has been the buzz words for Frederick.  Dry and hot had a good running for 2nd place. That is till tonight.  While sitting here working on my site I heard this sizzling noise.  Then a knocking at my Bay window!!!  I pulled back the curtains and what a wonderful site I saw.   RAIN !  At first it hit hard with the
big drops which made people run for cover.  Then it slowed down to a nice steady rain.  Then it stopped.
We got wet for just a little, but I am sure we all felt the coolness that it gave us.

Here at 3am I stuck my head out thru the curtains to see what woke me and it was raining lightly.  The sizzling again had woke the dog who woke me.  She is now fast to sleep and I am here.  I am hoping to hear the rain come more tonight.  They are calling for it to be a 2 day forecast of rain.  Gee will they be right????  We will see.

WE have been busy!

Well My birthday week started of with  a whirlwind cleaning of the whole house.  I think we made the cats and dog run for cover.  Once we got the fur and hair cleaned out of the corners we went for the bedrooms.
Everything just looks so great now.  I am sure this will not be fur free very long with all this heat.

Son is home from NYC and he will be with us till Sunday afternoon. That is when he will be going back down to Baltimore for a few days with his friends there.  Then he will be headed home on Wednesday.  While here he has been telling me of a few things that are in the works for his business.  I wish him well with it all.

Thank you Mac for coming home and making my birthday so very special for me.  Yes Mac, when you come home I do get so happy to see you, I am like all moms, I do cry!  Thank you for making my day the best day ever.  Love ya, for being you, my son.  Mom.

My Birthday week is sooo full!

Oh yes, today starts a full week before my birthday. The week also before my son comes home to help me party.  I am busy in the house doing all kinds of cleaning and pitching. I needed to do this over the past few months, but I got to pulling out things and found more goodies to put away.  So, I hope that I can get it all done before he comes in the door on Thursday July 21.

I can tell you that  that day is my 62 nd. birthday, but I don't feel that old.  I have been told I don't look it too. Blush!!  Some days are diamonds others are lumps of coal.  Yes I can say I feel that old then and sometimes older!  I guess we will have to have cake and ice cream, but only one candle!!! I don't want the fire department to run up here.  The blaze would be too great for the cake.  LOL.  Think I will bake the cake myself and that way I know what is in it.  White cake with multi colored candy drops in it. Then top it with cream cheese frosting with sprinkles on it.  Hum what flavor ice cream???  Rocky Road?  Moose Tracks? or maybe just good old peanut butter swirl!!  They all sound good.  What would you want Mac?  Oh and then comes the gifts.  One from each one of them. Maybe a card too?  That sure would be nice.  Hey, I got a card from my brother John and Fran, his wife. So sweet.  I thank you.  Then I will be hoping that  Mac, Kelly and I can sit and watch a movie together.  Now that would be a perfect end to a great day.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all the July babies from Me!

Frederick's 4th of July in Baker's Park

Picnic all day and watch the fireworks in the evening.  Oh, what a glorious day to be a Frederick native.
If you are lucky enough to be able to live in down town Frederick you only have a few blocks to walk to the Bakers Park.  There during the day  of the 4th will be many fun things to see and do and oh yes to eat.  Bring a picnic and stay all day if you wish.  After a full day of family fun then there is the fireworks displays at night.  Place your blanket down and sit or bring your chairs.  Starting at 9 pm or dark the fire works start. Last years were so bright and lively and loud.  The many different ones were in golds and greens and reds and blue too!  Just breath taking!  Food, fun and family and the to top it off wonderful fireworks. I live just 3 blocks away I will be there!  I hope you will be too.

Caraval time is here!!

What is Summer without the caravels?  Our area here in Maryland has many to choose from.  The week of the 4th we have a big one in Walkersville that everyone looks forward to each and every year.  Young and older alike  loves to go to these.  The food and the games are a main drawl for everyone.  But the rides are the reason most young people hoard their money.  The spider and Whip and the rollercosters are some of the best ones on the grounds of the Walkersville Fire Department. On the 4th there will be a fire works display that has everyone talking.  Good luck Walkersville I am hoping for a great day for all.

Tuesday, June 21, 2011

Oh it is the first day of Summer!

The kids are out of school and now what?  They want to go go go.  Will there be a vacation this year?  Will they be going to camp this year??  Or will they have a Summer School class to take to push ahead in school or college?  And what about that Summer job?  This is a time to relax or play for most kids.  As for Mom and Dad this remains to be worked out.  Dad got that BBQ he wanted for Fathers Day and he may want to cook out a few times a week.  How about the fishing rod and the new tents.  Maybe a trip where they will all go camping.  Mom had a week on the beach planned or away at that mountain retreat.  Or should we go to a history place and teach the children about.....!  Or maybe we can stay home and take day trips.   Good luck Mom and Dad for alot of times the older kids have other plans them selves.  But what ever you all do this Summer Please Please take care and enjoy the Summer time safely.  We want you to have fun and come back and see us really soon!

Oh my, the heat has hit.

This is just a note about the opening and closing of Nanny Goat Crafts:

When the weather is hot and that means anything over 90  I will not be open.  The heat is very bad and we have high fans but I don't want anyone to get heat stork. So when you come down and see we are closed
we are doing that for the heat.  Weather takes its tole on all of us and when trying on clothes even little ones get fussy.  We love helping you all find what you might be wanting. But we want you safe and well so you can come back and see us again.

Have a safe and happy Summer.

The death of a great Lady

Sometime Friday June 10 Jeanne Bice passed away with her family with her.  She was and always will be the head Quacker in the company she started in her home. The company  most ladies will remember as Quacker Factory.  Jeanne gave her all to her family and then to her company.  Lively, spunky, bright and happy in what she did.  And boy what she did do was help many a lady have fun with their clothing.  She made clothes sparkle, shine and be fun for all plus ladies as well as the regular sized ladies.  Teddies, penguins, dogs, flowers, farms and sea sides were on sweaters, pants and tees.  Some designs even wrapper around to the back lower side.  What ever she did weather it be beads or sequins or yarn, she was very good at it.  Good enough to catch the eye of the head buyer for QVC.  Jeanne was a bundle of Wit and fun on each show she helped host.  She was noted to wear hear bands and some of her own clothes.  She was a great hostess. She knew what she had and how to sell it to all who loved her and to many a new comer.  She made alot of ladies and some men in to Quackers and we all loved every min. of it.

I will surely miss that wonderful lady of fashion!

Please Jeanne Bice, rest with all the angels, but don't pull down the hellos to  make them look like they are wearing a head band.  Love you and will miss you.  Quack Quack.

Who Turnned on Summer!!

Ah yes as the rain stopped the heat became noticeable.  Spring was rained out and when we thought we could have some Spring someone turned on the Summertime heat.  In the past few days the temperature has gone up and up. Watering has become the early morring chore.  Oh and please do keep cold water with you as you do your everyday work.

I was going to work in the sewing room but it has become so hot in there that the machine wont run right.  So  I am guessing I will be working in the front part of the store today. If you don't see many goodies in the window right now it is because the sun has been bad to the goodies that we had in the windows.  I hate to say there has been a few goodies that has become sun bleached. SO they were removed and will be given to the church for yard sale.

***** Oh yes Yard Sale on June 18 at the Ruritan Club on Crum Rd in Mt. Pleasant from 8 am to 3 pm.  Bake table and some crafts and food will be big hits for this Annual Yard Sale.  In the Fall around November they, Mt Zion church puts on a Craft Show and food sale there again. *******

Work is to be in the store now during Summer from 10 to 4 Tues thru Sat.  We are not AC ed and the big fan  will keep us cool at this time.  We will be having a few days that we will be closed for work in the store and in the house.  We are trying to make it all the better for us all.   Thank you.

Have a great week and stay cool as best as you can.

Spring got raiinned out!

Spring has had alot of rain.  True it is good for the new gardens but not all at once.  My peas say thank you so much.  Lettuces says  please let the sun shine. I have tomatoes that are over 2 foot high and they are blooming.

The store has some new Ideas and new items too.  Clothes are starting to show up in the window and on our racks.  The lovely items are hand made or worked up tees with counted cross stitch on them. In the weeks to come Nanny will be adding alot more new things to our sections of the store.  Hopefully we will add more home made clothes for everyone.  Oh yes, we may even add a section of items for reenactors.  But, that will be in the future.  Baby and adult are the main people we are building up.  The house hold is the stage we are working on now.  So be on the lookout for all the new things.

We have added already to our many different sections of Nanny the"Nanny;s Mending Basket".  This is were we can and will repair most items you bring in with a problem.  If we cant I sure know alot of other people who would be willing to help.

So if it is going to rain like it has then we will be busy inside.  Then when the weather is nicer you just might find us out in front of the house here sitting under an umbrella.  Come join us with knitting or sewing out on the sidewalk.  We don't mind the company at all.

Please have a great sun shining day!

Easter is here.

With Joy in My heart I look forward to Easter.   Easter is very important to all who believe.
Some many will be awaiting the Easter bunny to hop into their house to give the Easter Baskets.
Sometimes he waits till after church to come to your house.  Then sometimes he comes before.
But when ever he comes there is always such fun and enjoyment for the children.  I hope that after
or before those of you who can and wish to go to church.  Because He is the reason for Easter.
Remember He has risen.

I wish all who read this blog a very Happy and joyous Easter Day!

We are moveing things around in the store.

Oh yes, with the rains of Spring comes Spring clean up.  With it raining outside one can get busy inside.  I have put that last hint of Winter away and started with more room in the store.  We now have the baby clothes on a rack. They are in the side of that big front window.  With the new designs and the new sizes we have I had to get them where you could take a gander.  We have add a rack beside the goodies for babies that will hold the adult sizes of their goodies.  We have tees and a few vests. But all is now in that front window awaiting your investigations.
The store is due for more moveing around inside and things will be easier to get to soon.  With Easter coming we needed this and I hope that all will be brighter.

Happy Easter to all.

We are having troubles get Spring

Hello friends. Spring is not quite here yet.  But the rains are.  I was awaken this morring by the heavy down pours we are having here. Our local river and streams are way out of their banks. So I will say please be very careful driving this morring.

With all this rain the gardeners are getting their hip boots out and getting  out to see if they still have a garden to plant once the seed orders get here.  I am hoping that we will be able to see the green on St. Patricks Day.   We have some cutes towels and washcloths that be wearing the green.  Then there is the Easter bunny hoping that he will be able to visit without leaving a trail. But we know here that he has already visited us. We have tees and sweatshirts that wear Easter motifs. There are bread cloths and towels and baby onesies that have bunnies on them. Chicks and bunnies are the designs for this season on many a goodie in the store.

For Summer this year we hope to have sun dresses for both children and  ladies. We may even have pull on shorts for the boys in the family too.  Later this year we hope that we will be adding a new line to our company. So be on the look out for it to come sometime around June.

But in the meantime drop in and chat with me at the store and let me know what you are looking for. I will try and work it into our store for you if I can.  See you here soon!

Old Man Winter wont leave

Yes, I know,  I have not been able to say it enough but, I want Spring to come to Frederick!! So what are we to get tonight??  Well they are calling for snow. Yes up to 4 to 8" of that stuff.  So I will have to unpack the winter hats, scarfs and mittens, for the last time I hope, tonight for tomorrow.

I have seeds ready for the first time I can plant after the last frost.  I have tomato plants poking up in peat pellets.  I have been working on the fabric in the store.  I am getting things ready for the changes in the room where my store is. I have started the new things for the wee ones in baby onesies with the circus in mind.  Elephants, bears, lions, and tigers.  Oh my! Then I have a few onesies with gardening ideas on them.  Found some great new fabric with little girls in mind.  Little sun dresses and shorts and tops all done in calico of purple and yellow flowers. Oh so sweet!

Hopefully there will be a few new lines for the company.  A line of ladies clothes and men's too.  These will be easy wear and not something for evening or dressy times.  I am in hopes that we will be able to add these lines this year.  So be on the look out for them sometime around July.

But for now we will be adding more and more goodies for the Spring and early Summer time.  I sure hope that the ground hog wasnt  given a brib!  LOL

Oh the poor Robins

The first sightings of Spring are the Robins here in Frederick.  Our poor dears are very cold and very hungry.  I set out to feed them seed like I do for most birds.  But I found out that our Robins are finicky.  The much prefer cookies and cake crumbs and of course bread.  They must have been eating at someones house all Winter long that could part with this food stuff. They sure didnt eat here at my window.  But they found that the bird seed was not that bad and finished that off too!

After fixing the birds food I took a cup of coffee out to the store with me and started to work on the fabric that I have in my storage bins.  I found alot of red check and yellow flowered fabric just great for the picnic clothes and napkins. Maybe even some nice pot holders and pads.  I think I have enough for an apron or two too.  I found a stash of little girls  dress patterns in the box also so I feel there will be some cute dresses in the window too.

Looking thru some of my crafting books I found a pattern for a paper back book cover that I have thought of making  for all you book worms.  This will hold you book and in case it with a protective cloth cover. These should start coming out in the Spring goodies in the next week or two.

But, dont forget, that we still have the cold weather goodies for what seems like the longest winter on record. There are hats, scarfs and mittens for adult and youths and babies. We still have a few blankets for baby too. For the coffee drinker we have a new design for a red plastic coffee mug.  Beautiful hearts with a key on a everweve insert. There are hearts and flowers on Bread cloths, finger tip towels and the mugs.  We have a few tees with Easter and hearts too.  So if you want to give your Sweetie a sweetheart of a gift, come visit us  at Nanny Goat Crafts Tues. through Sat. 1030 AM to 4 Pm.   Hope you have a great Valentines Day!
And would love to see you in our store.

Oh Spring, are you on your way??

Happy Ground Hogs Day!!  Our dear Phil has told us that he did not see his shadow lucking around today. So we must think that Spring is right around the corner.  With Robins on the ground and in the trees singing their little hearts out so joyfully. I find that the snow has started to melt away.  Much to the upset of my dog Annie, her snowman has run away for another year.

With all this in mind we here at the Nanny Goat Crafts company have been pulling out the patterns for the Easter goodies and Summer time fun clothes.  There are table goodies and picnic items on the table for Spring and Summer.  Little girls dresses and little boys shirts and short for both in the cutting room too. BBQ  and regular aprons, hot mitts and border towels already cut and awaiting their turn on the sewing machine.  Some new designs for the baby wear and things for their rooms being made in counted cross stitch in our sewing baskets awaiting for me I musts get ready now to open the door to the store.

So my dear friends, Nanny Goat Crafts waits for this Spring to hit in Frederick with open arms and a full window of goodies.

                                            Happy Spring!!

Oh Joy It is snowing!

Well the weather man for once was right we have snow!  It is very nice to get time to watch the snow fall.  But I am very busy in the store: Nanny Goat Crafts.  I have sold out of mittens and tams and caps. The adults have been coming in and picking them up right and left.  My needles can't keep up with the orders too.

We here at Nanny Goat Crafts are crafters that  make things that people can wear or use in everyday life.  We make things for baby, youth and adult.  Small to ex large in most things. We also make goodies for the household like towels and mugs and bread cloths and wash cloths and aprons and hot mitts and tablecloths and of course pillow slips. These are sewn or we do counted cross stitch on them. Or they are hand knitted. The choice of colors are many some solids some ombras.  Home made clothes are, for now, for baby but in the Spring we hope to have a small line of adult clothes.  We have one line called Kidd's Clothes which is for the wee one to the 6x child.  The adult line will be, I think, called Old Nanny's Closet.  We have just started looking into the name and will let you all know.  I just think you all will love our lines as they progress into the Summer.  Think back on some of the old fashioned clothes you use to wear and come see what we might have by mid Summer.
