Santa has been seen shopping

Now that  Tom Turkey has been here and he is now happy to have won the race. We now can   start working off that feast by putting up the tree and the lights inside  and outside of the house.  Santa is sad he didn't make it to be in front in November. But, he still has his own date here in December.  The tree is up and ready. I have been working on some new stockings for the blue jeans wearers in the family.  Then there is the cross stitched napkins, bread cloths and of course the towels.  Aprons and many other goodies are here in the store.  First night will be this coming Saturday the 1 st of December.  I have already seem some elves and I think I saw Santa at the  local WalMart.  He was looking at the trees and shaking his head.  I think Santa loves a real tree! But we now can start working up those lists and the wrapping of said goodies.
I have a few cookies to bake and a few dog treats to make too.  All of which can be bought in the Nanny Goat Crafts store on 2nd Street in down town Frederick.   Happy Shopping you have 29 days to go.

Tis the season to be Thankful!!

Yes, Tom has won and he is very thankful that everyone has remembered to have Thanksgiving before Santa.

I have had this store open on Sundays during Holidays for the past 26 years.  Each year I have found that I am truly thankful to all the wonderful people who come and visit, revisit or just fond us. Each person that comes in has always giving me something in return.  Some give me a smile, a grin, a story or just the shear pleasure of coming in and seeing what I have to offer.  They also give me ideas for new things to have for next year or something I can do for them now. I love each visit and it gives me great joy to see what my things can give each of them.  So I say I have many friends and I am given many gifts of joy each and every day here at Nanny Goat Crafts.  I am truly thankful to all who have come in and spent some time here.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!!!

Tom Turkey is Pulling out into first place!

Yes indeed, Tom is leading over Santa.  I have been going out to the stores looking for the Thanksgiving joy and have found it in a bountifully way.  Turkeys in frozen and fresh, whole and breasts. Even some turkey legs! But sad to say, like most things, the cost has gone up.   I for one love a turkey roll both white and dark meats. I found gravy and stuffing mixes as well as cranberry in many forms. All that are great for the dinners to come.  I also found pumpkin in breads, cookies, muffins, cakes and of course the famous Pumpkin pie!!
This all sounds so wonder full and filling but, we must wait till next week  to find out how Mom or Gram mom will fix our Tom Turkey dinner.

Did I just hear someone say they could not wait??

Looks like Snow in the fabric room.

I have found this great fabric that looks like a geometric snow storm.  It is blue, white, green and red.  The flakes are the true dimensional block type of flakes.   Some are the red and some are the green.  I have looked around and found the top cuff of this stockings that I am making for Christmas Eve. It has the same green and red and blue shades. So they really look great together. Can't wait to start on them this coming week.  I sew on Mondays and can get a lot of things finished in one day. Wonder if I can do all 4?

I have been still knitting the pumpkin caps for everyone that wants one. I have a few baby caps in the shop on 2nd Street.  I have sold all the white pumpkin caps that I started this year.  People like them so they might be back for the next year.  But right now I am knitting the red, white, and green yarns. They are in caps and mitts and scarfs and neck choker warmers.  I have been making some ornaments for the tree and also some catnip toys for the cats in this yarn.  I may say that the toys are visible at night on the floor so there isn't any stepping on surprises.  Also I have been working on some dog things for toys and clothes.

As for the race of who will win on the first holiday rating I see Santa coming up behind Tom Turkey fast.  Looks like Santa might just gain on old Tom.  But one never knows.  Tom is full of surprises!

The race is on.

With the pumpkins all cut and looking really sad Halloween is now just a memory. All but the candy and the Jack-o-lanterns.  We can see that the race is on for the next Holiday.  Tom is out in front but Santa is not too far behind.

Tom Turkey is really the next Holiday.  And with some of the pumpkins being looked at for pies, breads and cookies  that is a good thing.  The nuts and the acorn squash are now in the pantry. The temps are getting cooler and the firewood is up to the porch. I hope the fireplaces have been cleaned and made ready.  The apples are gathered into the makings for cider, sauce and pies.   There is a thought of snow flakes to come on Weds. day the 7th or Thurs. day the 8th. More and more things are out for the Thanksgiving day feast.

Tablecloths and napkins that match. The turkey platter washed and sitting on the dinning room table with all the fine china, crystal, and the silver.  All waiting that very important day of thanks.

But in the shadows, there is the now evidents of a very large figure. He is here way before his time. But with the reasons only the adults know he is here so that they can be ready for him to come into each home.  There are the trees out there already for Christmas and this man in a red suit to tuck gifts under the trees.

So who do you think will be here first??
