Things Are Changing Around Here

The air has been cold and we have had a frost.  The leaves are turning on my tree outside of my bay window.  I have a 3 yr. old Maple that I have been babying now for 4 winters.  In return I have been seeing reds, golds and greens.

This week we will see Halloween come in on Thursday eve. the weather is to be raining. Sorry kids! But we here in downtown Frederick wont be having Trick or Treats. This was band a long time ago because kid were getting hurt.

But in the Nanny Goat Crafts I have some really nice things for the season to give and to receive. I have Pumpkin hats for the whole family. A lovely pumpkin pocketbook for the young at heart ladies to use for a Fall outing. Kids there are a few tee shirts and for the babies there are a few onesies with crows and kitties and pumpkins on them.

For the Cats and the Dog we have: pumpkin catnip toys and the pumpkin shaped Peanut butter and oats treats. Now what is that outside a witch??

Cookies with sugars on them for the treats are here too!

So I say have fun this Halloween BUT take care.  And don't eat any unwrapped candy.

Ahh Fall

Well the time has come to put out your Fall sweaters and caps and start taking country walks.  The leaves have just started to change here in the Frederick area. We are still having warm days but the nights have cooled down some.

I have been working on a lot of colors in beanie caps. Mostly in acrylic yarns in lovely shades of blue. Some are even wool with flakes of red, green, yellow and white. Then I have added pom  poms. I have found a few buttons that have a Fall look to them as well as Christmas. These I have added to the band of the caps.

As the weather changes I am sure these caps, mittens and scarfs will be a wonderful addition to every ones
wardrobe. If you go pumpkin picking or for the Fall festivals the added warmth will be welcomed.

Happy October to you all!!!

Dont forget your pumpkin caps!

I have been working on pumpkin caps for the whole family.  I now think I have enough caps for all the family even the cats and dogs.  Yes, I have been making them in the pet sizes too.  I have been working on a few preemie sizes too.  I have given some caps to the "Care Wear" group for the hospitals they send to. I think that all babies need to have some fun caps for their clothes.   But, it is getting close to that time of year for the Pumpkins to be made into pies and treats and of course the all important Jack O' Lantern.

I have been making them for the show out in Middletown, Maryland there at Jumbo's Pumpkin Patch. They have a crafts barn there for many peoples crafts.  They have Fall times and Christmas too.  They are open on the weekends starting next weekend on Friday.   So, if you want a ride in the country go visit them and enjoy a hay ride. While out there pick out that Fall goodies that you want for the porch or the table inside. Then go in and visit with them in the crafts barn.  Oh, an don't forget to wear your pumpkin cap or pick one up out there.

Fall fell and the rain came by for a visit

Yes, today was the first day of Fall.  The weather was very much like Fall with the dark skies and the wind clouds. The threat of rain was holding back till just about the time most people were getting home from work.  This week we have had the Great Frederick Fair here in Frederick. For once I thought we might get thou without rain. But it came one the last day.

Fall can be very odd around here in Md. We can have a cold wet Fall or we can have a warm wet Fall.  The chilly weather can stay away for all I truly care.  I am not one for the cold, wet, snowy and damp weather. Tonight is wet and mild.  Bring on the rain we really need it. Just don't get cold on us just yet, Please!

Happy first day of a wet Fall Ya all!

Fall is here and Halloween is out in the stores.

I found myself walking thru the Halloween goodies today while out and about. Many things to pick out. Candy bags for the pup treats, Halloween ribbon for ties and strings.  I have been working on something very new for Halloween or just Fall thru Thanksgiving.  I will soon have a picture of it for the Etsy shop I have.  www.NannyGoatCrafts.etsy.com !  Once it is up there will be a limit to how many there will be made.

With the caps for all members of the family in the pumpkin style there are mittens too.  I have been thinking of other pumpkin things to make like the pumpkin cat nip toys that are in the site.

Fall is one of my favorite times of the year.  I have been  looking for the teas and the coffees that are out now and they make  a good change from the regular flavors.  I have gone out into the garden and picked up 3 pumpkins that grew on the vines in my backyard.  Yes Mac, they grew this year and gave me 5.  I am thinking of making a pie out of one.  The others will come in and be used for Jack o"lanterns.

Just keep and eye out for the new Items in our web and remember to order early.

Happy Fall Ya all!!

The Flu is going to the dogs.!!

Dear pet owners,  Yes it is going to the dogs.  I have heard that it has hit in Montgomery's county.  It is not a nice flu and it spreads from dog to dog.  The happy note is that there is a shot that can be given to your dog to keep it from getting the flu.  Please go and visit your vet with you pup and get that shot.  A good idea for we all want to keep our babies well and happy.
Thank you for your time to read this.

Thank you Steve!!!!

Once in a great while we all need help with things.  Well, back here in May I had a major crash with my computer.  Then I needed help and called in a friend. Then I called in the other computer people.  Well to my surprise all everyone wanted me to do was buy a new computer!!!  This was not an option.  I talked to a friend who has had problems with her computer and she gave me a gentlemans phone number to his store.  I called him and got him on the phone. Wow, no need to leave # and wait.  He said he could be there in a few hours.  I needed to be away at that time we worked it out that he would come the next day.  He was on time and he worked on my computer in my home!  But alas poor old computer was dieing.  He told me he could try and fix it in his home.  He took her away and looked her over and said : "ts the mother board and the hard drive"" But I think I can order them both."  He did and I am soo great full for his help!!

With out you Steve I would have been even longer away from work and my play!!

A world of thanks to you My computer guru!!

April Showers Will Bring May Flowers

I have been yucky with Allergies this weekend and I am looking forward to some rain to get rid of them.
And I am in need of the rain to give us the water for the gardens.  I have worked very hard on the clean up of the yard and garden plots.  I am going to have the garden waste men have a fit when they see all the bags I will be putting out for them on Wendsday.
If the rain does come the birds and the flowers will be very happy. I love seeing the abundance of flowers in the yards around here and in my own yard.  The roses are getting their green leaves on them. I put down the rose food and worked it into the soil now for the rains to do their job.  I know that this years garden will be beautifully flowered.

Oh Gee the Ground was found run over!

It was a sad day here in Frederick Country.  We heard the Medevac go out and all the fire department too.
Then all came back and there was all these sad faces.  When asked they told us that the Ground hog was found on 15 North . He had expired some one ran over him.  We all have been so sorry!  BUT Now he is gone and the weather has changed for the better!!!!  I am betting that it was the weather man that ran over the Ground Hog!!

Next Sunday is St. Patricks Day and I do so wish you a Happy Green Day.  I will be having a wee bit of the green beers and the taters and maybe even the cornned beef.   Please don't forget to wear your best green Item.

Then on the fallowing Sunday it will be Palm Sunday.  Then Easter the next Sunday the 31th. This brings the Easter bunny and chocolates and jelly beans. With brightly colored eggs.  My Dad and I would take them outside and see which one of us would crack the others egg but butting them together.  Odd game but fun. Then we would make hard boiled egg sandwichs out of them.

Tis the Eyeds of March time.

While I walked outside this morning I was listening to a robin singing his sweet song. I gave the back yard a good look over and see the tiny green buds coming up Thur the ground. Thinking " ah the beginnings of Spring". the smell of the ground and the air has changed.

In about 2 weeks the Daylight savings time will start. Oh, I can not wait for the jump forward and losing the one hour extra sleep.  And the warmth of the temptures. I am tired of the rain and cold and the dampness that comes with Winter. I am ready for Spring!  I want to get out into the garden on the eve of the 17th an plant my taters. I have the tomatoes in pots in the house. And I want peas,  so I need a new fence.

Then we will have Palm Sunday the week after that. With Easter coming the week after that.  I plan on Sunrise service. Then hoping to come home to dinner with the family.  I will bake the usual cakes and buns. Then we will see what they want to eat.

So March will come in like a blowing wind and run out the same way.

So I hope everyone has a great St. Patrick's Day, Happy less sleep, Happy Palm Sunday,  and a wonderful Easter Day.

We are Irish and have a few goodies to show you.

Nanny  has a few nice items for gift giving for St. Patrick's Day.

Trying a new Craft for a new year.

Time has gotten away from me!  Here it is the end of the first month for 2013 and I have not been writing to all of you who ready my notes on here.

I have just started a new crafting idea for the shop.  I will quilt tee shirts in to bed covers for anyone who wants me to.  The cost is fair and you will need to tell me what size you would want. Send me a deposit and the tees that you would want in the quilt.  Then you need to tell me what color you would want to have on the back of that quilt. The sizes are D, Q and K.  The first deposit will be $75 and that will be a down payment on said quilt. Once finished I will send you a bill for time and fabric and batting. Of course minis the down payment.  That is for a tee shirt quilt.

I have been told that I should even make a baby/youth quilt for children made of their baby clothes. There again it would be what size: Crib or Twin. The color for the backing which you might want to match to a color in the clothes you will send.  The deposit there will be $ 50. and that too will be taken off the finished bill.

Shipping will be different with every quilt so that will go on to the bill.

Send orders and tees and clothes to
