Frederick's 4th of July in Baker's Park

Picnic all day and watch the fireworks in the evening.  Oh, what a glorious day to be a Frederick native.
If you are lucky enough to be able to live in down town Frederick you only have a few blocks to walk to the Bakers Park.  There during the day  of the 4th will be many fun things to see and do and oh yes to eat.  Bring a picnic and stay all day if you wish.  After a full day of family fun then there is the fireworks displays at night.  Place your blanket down and sit or bring your chairs.  Starting at 9 pm or dark the fire works start. Last years were so bright and lively and loud.  The many different ones were in golds and greens and reds and blue too!  Just breath taking!  Food, fun and family and the to top it off wonderful fireworks. I live just 3 blocks away I will be there!  I hope you will be too.

Caraval time is here!!

What is Summer without the caravels?  Our area here in Maryland has many to choose from.  The week of the 4th we have a big one in Walkersville that everyone looks forward to each and every year.  Young and older alike  loves to go to these.  The food and the games are a main drawl for everyone.  But the rides are the reason most young people hoard their money.  The spider and Whip and the rollercosters are some of the best ones on the grounds of the Walkersville Fire Department. On the 4th there will be a fire works display that has everyone talking.  Good luck Walkersville I am hoping for a great day for all.

Oh it is the first day of Summer!

The kids are out of school and now what?  They want to go go go.  Will there be a vacation this year?  Will they be going to camp this year??  Or will they have a Summer School class to take to push ahead in school or college?  And what about that Summer job?  This is a time to relax or play for most kids.  As for Mom and Dad this remains to be worked out.  Dad got that BBQ he wanted for Fathers Day and he may want to cook out a few times a week.  How about the fishing rod and the new tents.  Maybe a trip where they will all go camping.  Mom had a week on the beach planned or away at that mountain retreat.  Or should we go to a history place and teach the children about.....!  Or maybe we can stay home and take day trips.   Good luck Mom and Dad for alot of times the older kids have other plans them selves.  But what ever you all do this Summer Please Please take care and enjoy the Summer time safely.  We want you to have fun and come back and see us really soon!

Oh my, the heat has hit.

This is just a note about the opening and closing of Nanny Goat Crafts:

When the weather is hot and that means anything over 90  I will not be open.  The heat is very bad and we have high fans but I don't want anyone to get heat stork. So when you come down and see we are closed
we are doing that for the heat.  Weather takes its tole on all of us and when trying on clothes even little ones get fussy.  We love helping you all find what you might be wanting. But we want you safe and well so you can come back and see us again.

Have a safe and happy Summer.

The death of a great Lady

Sometime Friday June 10 Jeanne Bice passed away with her family with her.  She was and always will be the head Quacker in the company she started in her home. The company  most ladies will remember as Quacker Factory.  Jeanne gave her all to her family and then to her company.  Lively, spunky, bright and happy in what she did.  And boy what she did do was help many a lady have fun with their clothing.  She made clothes sparkle, shine and be fun for all plus ladies as well as the regular sized ladies.  Teddies, penguins, dogs, flowers, farms and sea sides were on sweaters, pants and tees.  Some designs even wrapper around to the back lower side.  What ever she did weather it be beads or sequins or yarn, she was very good at it.  Good enough to catch the eye of the head buyer for QVC.  Jeanne was a bundle of Wit and fun on each show she helped host.  She was noted to wear hear bands and some of her own clothes.  She was a great hostess. She knew what she had and how to sell it to all who loved her and to many a new comer.  She made alot of ladies and some men in to Quackers and we all loved every min. of it.

I will surely miss that wonderful lady of fashion!

Please Jeanne Bice, rest with all the angels, but don't pull down the hellos to  make them look like they are wearing a head band.  Love you and will miss you.  Quack Quack.
